The research behind TEJAS

An 8-page paper on why India needs a free desktop in its own languages, and how TEJAS is built to deliver one.

  • The problem. Cost, language, old PCs and privacy, framed as five research questions.
  • What came before. Lessons from BOSS Linux, Maya OS and BharOS.
  • How it works. Architecture, Indian language support, signed builds and Secure Boot.
  • Honest gaps. What still needs testing in real Indian homes.
