TEJAS OS1. Welcome to Tejas OS
Tejas OS is a software project created by Jaspal Khalsa under the JK Design brand.
Our goal is to build an operating system with an India-focused vision and make it available to people free of charge.
These Terms & Conditions explain the basic rules for downloading, installing, and using Tejas OS.
By downloading, installing, or using Tejas OS, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms. If you do not agree, please do not download, install, or use it.
2. Tejas OS Is Free
Tejas OS is provided free of charge.
You do not have to pay to download or use it where it is offered for free. The project is provided without a promise of payment, profit, or financial return to its creator.
Free software can still have risks. Free does not mean that the software is guaranteed to work perfectly, suit every computer, or meet every user’s needs.
3. Downloading Is Your Choice
You decide whether to download, install, or use Tejas OS.
Before installing it, please:
- Check whether your computer or device is compatible.
- Back up important files and personal data.
- Read the installation instructions carefully.
- Make sure you understand the risks of installing an operating system.
- Ask a qualified technician for help if you are unsure.
Installing an operating system may change your device, affect existing software, or erase files if something goes wrong.
If you choose to download or install Tejas OS, you accept the risks involved, subject to the rights and protections that apply under law.
4. No Promise That Everything Will Work
Tejas OS is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, to the extent permitted by law.
We do not promise that it will:

- Be free from bugs, errors, or security weaknesses.
- Work without interruption.
- Support every driver, printer, Wi-Fi adapter, graphics card, or application.
- Always be available for download.
- Receive updates or support for a particular period.
- Meet every user’s expectations or requirements.
Features may change, stop working, or be removed as the project develops.
5. Use It Responsibly
You agree not to use Tejas OS to:
- Commit crimes or break applicable laws.
- Harm other people or their devices.
- Spread malware or conduct unauthorised attacks.
- Access systems, accounts, or data without permission.
- Violate another person’s privacy or intellectual property rights.
- Bypass security controls for unlawful purposes.
You are responsible for how you use the software and for ensuring that your use follows applicable law.
6. Your Files and Personal Data
You are responsible for protecting your own files, passwords, accounts, and personal information.
Always keep a backup of important data before installing or updating an operating system.
To the extent permitted by law, the creator is not responsible for data loss caused by installation, updates, compatibility issues, software errors, hardware failures, or user actions.
This section does not remove any legal responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Security and Updates
No software can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Although reasonable efforts may be made to improve Tejas OS, we do not guarantee that every vulnerability will be discovered, fixed, or fixed immediately.
You are responsible for deciding whether to install updates and for keeping your device and other software appropriately protected.
Do not rely on Tejas OS as your only security measure for sensitive, business-critical, or high-risk activities.
8. Third-Party Software and Open-Source Licences
Tejas OS may include, use, or depend on software, drivers, libraries, tools, or other components created by third parties.

Third-party software and services are not automatically owned, controlled, or supported by the creator of Tejas OS.

The Tejas OS name, branding, website content, original artwork, and original project materials may be protected by intellectual property laws.
Unless a separate licence says otherwise, you may not claim ownership of these materials, falsely present yourself as the creator, or use the branding to suggest official approval or endorsement.
The rights you have to download, copy, modify, or redistribute Tejas OS depend on the licence applicable to the relevant parts of the software. Please check the published project and component licences before redistributing or modifying it.
Nothing in these terms overrides an applicable open-source licence or other rights granted by law.
10. No Official Support Promise
Tejas OS is provided free of charge. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, there is no promise of personal technical support, troubleshooting, customisation, repairs, or guaranteed response times.
You may report bugs or suggest improvements, but we are not required to implement every suggestion or provide a response.
11. Limitation of Responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the creator and project maintainers will not be responsible for indirect or unexpected losses arising from the download, installation, inability to use, or use of Tejas OS. Examples may include loss of data, lost profits, business interruption, or damage to other software.
Where the law permits a limit on liability, our total responsibility will be limited to the amount, if any, you paid directly to obtain Tejas OS. Because Tejas OS is offered free of charge, that amount may be zero.
This clause does not exclude or limit any liability, consumer right, remedy, or legal protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Nothing here protects anyone from fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, or other liability where the law does not allow such protection.
12. Children and Younger Users
If you are under the age required by applicable law to agree to these terms, please ask your parent or legal guardian to review them and help you decide whether to download or install Tejas OS.
Do not install an operating system on a device owned by someone else without permission.
13. Website and Download Availability
We may update the website, change download links, modify features, or temporarily or permanently stop offering Tejas OS.
We do not guarantee that the website or downloads will always be available, error-free, or compatible with every browser or device.
Please download software only from the official website or another source we have clearly identified as official.
14. Privacy
Your privacy depends on how the website and the operating system are built and configured.
The website may process technical information needed to operate, protect, and maintain its services. Tejas OS itself may also process information depending on the features, applications, and services included in the version you use.
These Terms & Conditions are not a substitute for a Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains what the website and Tejas OS collect, what is shared with third parties, and how to contact us about your data.
15. Changes to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated as Tejas OS develops.
The latest version will be published on the official website with an updated date. If a change is legally significant, any notice or consent required by law will be provided.
If you do not agree with an updated version, stop using Tejas OS and uninstall it if appropriate.
16. Applicable Law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory laws and consumer protections that apply to you.
Any dispute will be handled by a court with appropriate jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in this section removes a legal right to bring a claim before another court where the law allows or requires it.
